Chaguaramo is a Venezuelan photographer from Caracas, Venezuela. He studied in Neumann Instituto de Diseño, and Ingres Instituto especializado de diseño. He worked for more than five years as an art director in different magazines and advertising agencies in Caracas, in 2001 moved to Barcelona, where he studied in Centro d'Estudis Cinematogràfics de Catalunya, since then he has been living mainly in Barcelona but has also lived in Madrid and Hamburg. In the present he is the creative director of Mandrill Creative Studio.
In 2003 he held his first solo exhibition "360 grados" forty black & white street images from Barcelona, since then he has exhibited his work in different civic centres and bookshops of the city. Chaguaramo dedicates himself exclusively to capturing urban images. "I am more interested in what happens on the streets than in photography per se. The value of a captured moment involving actors you have no control of is inmense compared to staged photography. In addition, photography of what surrounds us in our everyday lives as opposed to photography of war or of the miserable, displays a moral freshness where the social document is just an aftermath of the aesthetic quest of the artist."
