Chaguaramo. Dedicated to capturing images on the streets, non denouncing, non political street documents of people and fractions of the city of Barcelona and other places that are familiar to the photographer. A mix of irony and nostalgia from our own time that relates us to earlier times of photography. Chaguaramo shoots exclusively on the street inspired by the beautiful legacy of artists such as Brassaï, Atget, Steichen, Callahan, Catalá-Roca, Maspons, Miserachs, Pérez-Luna among others, embracing a discipline in which the randomness of reality dictates the stage and yet the captured frame is a product of compositional intuition of the artist, given the infinite posiblilities of the combination people + urban space.
As Magnum's Ferdinando Scianna puts it: "A photograph is not created by a photographer. What [they do] is just to open a little window and capture it. The world then writes itself on the film. The act of the photographer is closer to reading than it is to writing. They are the readers of the world."
